Parish Business Manager Position Open

Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church is seeking to fill the position of Parish Business Manager.  The Parish Business Manager has primary responsibility for the supervision and management of all administrative functions of the parish including, but not limited to, financial activities, human resources, parish facility maintenance and use, and all related processes and systems for the parish.  The role is intended as support to the work of the Pastor, staff, and parishioners.  The Parish Business Manager plays an essential role in the mission and ministry of the church by ensuring that the practical matters of parish ministry are well-managed.  The Parish Business Manager directs these efforts within a framework of shared ministry and purpose consistent with the mission of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and the Diocese of Bismarck.  You may view the job description here.  For application information, contact the parish office at 701-839-6834 or email the parish.

 

Faith Formation year-end activities; Parents invited

The final day of our Wednesday (grades K-5) Faith Formation classes is Wednesday, May 1.  Classes begin as usual at 4:00 and 5:30 p.m.; and parents are invited to the Awards ceremonies at the end of their child's class session.  For 4:00 p.m. classes, the Awards presentation will be at 4:50 p.m. in the main church.  For 5:30 p.m. classes, the Awards presentation will be at 6:20 p.m. in the main church.  Children will receive awards for Perfect Attendance and for Prayer Station.

The final day of our Sunday (grades Preschool-5) Faith Formation classes is Sunday, May 5.  The morning will begin with May Crowning held during the final song of the 8:30 a.m. Mass - so please make sure children arrive to class by 9:20 a.m. or earlier so they may participate in May Crowning.  We will then have a short class time, followed by 10:00 a.m. Awards to be presented in the Sts. Anne & Joachim classrooms in the classroom hallway.  (Preschool students will remain in their classroom during the awards.)  Awards will be presented for Perfect Attendance and for Prayer Station.  Parents are invited to the 10:00 a.m. Awards presentation.

 

Graduates' Mass is May 5

All parish students who are graduating from high school this Spring are invited to participate in the Graduates' Mass to be celebrated on Sunday, May 5, at 10:30 a.m.  Please arrive in the parish dining room by 10:15 a.m. for instructions and to line up for the procession into the church.  Please wear your graduation cap and gown, if you have them by that time.  (If you don't have them, that's okay.)  You will process into the church at the beginning of Mass, together with the priest, deacon and altar servers, and will be seated in reserved pews.  During the Mass, the priest will ask those in attendance to join him in praying for you as you embark on a new stage of life.  Following the Mass, cake and beverages will be served in the dining room.

 

Confirmation Mass is May 12

There are two options for the Confirmation Mass rehearsal:  either Thursday, May 9, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. followed by confessions OR Saturday, May 11, from 1:30-2:30 p.m. followed by confessions.  If you want a sheet to follow for the confession format, you will find it here.  Sheets will also be available at rehearsal. 

The Confirmation Mass is on Sunday, May 12 (Mother's Day), at 10:30 a.m.  Students and Sponsors must arrive by 9:30 a.m. for professional photos and final instructions.   

 

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School (VBS) which will be held the evenings of August 5-8, will be for children who are age 5 (by August 5) through those who are entering grade 5 this fall. You may register your child here or you may find a registration form on the bulletin board in the classroom hallway.  Please contact the office if you are interested in volunteering.

Mother Daughter Days with Franciscan Sisters

The Franciscan Sisters of Dillingen in Hankinson, N.D. invite you to attend their Mother Daughter Days this summer. St. Joseph community procession May 4

Join the Knights of Columbus from Cathedral and St. Joseph parishes, and the Troops of Saint George, for a community procession and walk on Saturday, May 4 in honor of St. Joseph, Patron of Workers, and in honor of the dignity of work. The procession will depart from the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit in Bismarck after the 8 a.m. Mass and the prayers to Our Lady of Perpetual Help, and will proceed to St. Joseph Church in Mandan. Total distance approximately six miles utilizing the bike path as much as possible. There will be a grab-and-go breakfast at departure from the Cathedral and a picnic lunch will be served by the Knights at St. Joseph Church upon arrival. Please arrange for your own transportation back to Bismarck following the walk as needed.
